Guardi Francesco (1712-1792) - Italian painter.
Not only in Venice, but also across all Europe Guardi has become famous as the master of city sights of XVIII century. His early creative work is inseparable by his brother’s activity, which was much more senior than Francesco and supervised over known workshop in Venice. Francesco started with the pictures representing human figures or histories, but has soon found out the thin feeling of the atmosphere connecting characters and landscape surrounding them. With the help of transparent light he gave to topographical sights special poetry. Guardi’s creative work collection is huge (more than thousand pictures). His landscapes there are in famous European and American museums.
