Vernet Claude Jozepf (1714-1789) - French painter.
His precise, poetical works testify to Claude Lorrena's influence. Verne made in France the big success, and in 1753 has been accepted in Academy. The main artist’s work - a series Ports of France (15 pictures), are written in different manners. Verne’s creative work remains one of the best certificates of French landscape writers’ searches on the eve of romanticism.
