Svetoslav Roerich (1904–1993)
is a Russian artist. When Svetoslav Roerich was 12 years old he had already helped his father (an artist Nicholas Roerich) strain canvases on the stretchers and prepare paints. In 1919 in England there were special architecture classes. In 1920 Svetoslav Roerich entered the Architectural Branch of the Colombia University. Then he continued his education at the Architectural School at Harvard University. In 1922 at an Exhibition of both Foreign and Russian art in New York there were Svetoslav Roerich's works for the first time. In 1926 at an Exhibition in Philadelphia he got his first prize for the big decorative panels on east plots. According to the art critics Svetoslav Roerich's talent blossomed at once. Having lived in India for a long time he penetrated to the culture of great Indian people. That is why on a background of modern world art Svetoslav Roerich is very individual artist.
Svetoslav Roerich's name are held in respect in Russia. Together with such other ones it makes a world glory of Russian culture.

Will be available on the second volume of a unique publication dedicated to the works of Nicholas Roerich (1874-1947).
The album was released by the publishing house "Agni" (Samara), with active cooperation of the Nicholas Roerich Museum in New York, as well as the Moscow Gallery Fine Arts Academy and the St. Petersburg State Museum and Institute of the Roerich Family.
