ROUSSEAU Theodore (1812-1867) – French landscape writer of Barbison’s school. He was taught by his cousin, landscape writer Pierre-Alexander Po de Saint-Martin. Rousseau’s first famous painting “The telegraph at Mon-Martre” (the Art and Archaeological museum, Boulogne-sur-Mehr) was written in 1836. In 1844 Rousseau painted his “Chestnut Alley”, (Paris, Louwre) one of his masterpieces. His exhibition in the theatre “Odeon” in 1845 brought him the deserved recognition of public.

Will be available on the second volume of a unique publication dedicated to the works of Nicholas Roerich (1874-1947).
The album was released by the publishing house "Agni" (Samara), with active cooperation of the Nicholas Roerich Museum in New York, as well as the Moscow Gallery Fine Arts Academy and the St. Petersburg State Museum and Institute of the Roerich Family.
