Silvestr Schedrin's short life fall to that happy time for Russian art which were named " Pushkin’s time" - time noted by the" high aspiration" to the truth and beauty. The future artist had been surrounded by art since the childhood - the Art Academy mysterious for many - was the native house for him: his father, the known sculptor was the rector of the Academy, the professor was his uncle, glorified landscape writer Simeon Schedrin. There were no any doubts about Silvestr’s future – when he was nine years the boy had been enlisted in the Art Academy and in several years left it with the gold medal entitled a trip abroad. He went to Neapol and never returned back because of his early death. And now memory about this painter, having mixed up with legends about his life, was alive among the Neapolitan fishermen and shepherds.

Will be available on the second volume of a unique publication dedicated to the works of Nicholas Roerich (1874-1947).
The album was released by the publishing house "Agni" (Samara), with active cooperation of the Nicholas Roerich Museum in New York, as well as the Moscow Gallery Fine Arts Academy and the St. Petersburg State Museum and Institute of the Roerich Family.
