Bucher made a brilliant career, became acquainted with every honour, constantly received royal orders and was in touch with many connoisseurs of art. He painted a series of Pastorals consisting of 14 parts. It’s difficult to overestimate the meaning of Bucher’s mastery. He could be considered the founder of the separate art school. First of all, in his hymn to woman’s beauty he built up a new canon which fitted wonderfully the Parisian society of that time – he depicted the flourishing beauty. He is the artist of happiness. Bucher was an imaginative landscape painter, a great decorator and the most talented ornament painter of the 18th century. His mastery embodies the encyclopedic spirit of the epoch. His technique of painting and his willing to show the world as a light and joyful one influenced the whole art of the end of the 18th century.

The album was released by the publishing house "Agni" (Samara), with active cooperation of the Nicholas Roerich Museum in New York, as well as the Moscow Gallery Fine Arts Academy and the St. Petersburg State Museum and Institute of the Roerich Family.
