Diana (Rom., Gr. – Artemis) is the daughter of Jupiter and Latona, the goddess of hunting, the mistress of animals, and also the goddess of the Moon identified sometimes with Selena (Luna). In works of art Diana is most frequently presented armed with a bow, with a quiver at her back, followed by her dogs or a doe. As the moon goddess, Diana was depicted with a crescent on her head with torches in her hands and wearing long clothes.
