Frans Snyders(1579-1657)
– Flemish painter, leading master of still life genre. As regards to early Snyders’ works thin painting and carefully written out details are typical characteristic specifying that the painter based on an example of painting of Peter Breagel Young, Yan Bragel Velvet and Hendryk van Balen. On subjects they are close to the Dutch market stages. Resolute turn in Snyders’ creative work has happened after the meeting with Rubens who had woken in him an aspiration to the monumental compositions and dynamical painting. Further Snyders’ style has not undergone any changes. His large-format paintings gained a big popularity in Flemish noble and served as an ornament of their palaces. His often reference to a subject of an aristocratic hunting is connected to this. However these products give out the certain weaknesses in the image both the action, and the mutual relations of a person and an animal.
