In October, 24, 1843 the holiday happened at the Ippolite Semiradsky’s family, living in the village Novobelgorod (nowadays Pechenegy) near Krakov. His wife Mihalina, nee Prushinkaja, had given birth to the son Henryk Gektor. The future painter’s father served as the dragoon officer in a cavalry regiment of the Imperial Army in the Kharkov province. In their family Polish language & literature, Catholic Religion were the integral elements of children’s education. At the same time Semiradsky felt the organic connection to the Russian culture that had been promoted greatly by the studying at the Kharkov’s school where drawing was taught by D. Bezperchy, K.Bryullov’s pupil. Under his influence the painter’s predilections about art and life had been formed.

Will be available on the second volume of a unique publication dedicated to the works of Nicholas Roerich (1874-1947).
The album was released by the publishing house "Agni" (Samara), with active cooperation of the Nicholas Roerich Museum in New York, as well as the Moscow Gallery Fine Arts Academy and the St. Petersburg State Museum and Institute of the Roerich Family.
