Watteau Jean Antoine (1684-1721) - French artist.
First of all he worked in Paris where copied products of Dutch masters. In 1703-1708 he worked in K.Zhillo’s masterful; this period played a main role in the painter’s formatting. He managed to develop his own style. It was a "synthesis" of many artists’ and schools’ achievements, expressed in gentle colour, light effects and sensitive embodiment of a rare poetry atmosphere. He became popular very early; Watto’s works were copied frequently, especially ‘’gallant holidays’’ and theatrical plots.
